Review of
Labyrinth of Evil
This is simply a must-read lead-in to Episode III, and is the beginning of the Dark Lord trilogy of novels, one of the best in Legends. We all know how Episode III begins (unless you haven't seen it then...spoiler), where Palpatine has been captured and is being held on Grevious' ship, but we had no idea how this occurred...until now. Labyrinth of Evil explores the moments leading up to Episode III, specifically the Separatist attack on Coruscant.
The novel continually jumps from different first-person perspectives which gives the reader wonderful insight into how each character is coping with three years of continuous war. The thoughts of Yoda, Mace, Anakin and Obi-Wan are explored, but you also get an insight into Dooku's thoughts as well, something that made Yoda: Dark Rendezvous special.
The last 150 pages of this novel were non-stop action, detailing the attack on Coruscant from different angles, exploring the bowels of the planet on the trail of a sith lord, and laying out a seemingly flawless plan executed by Grevious to capture Palpatine....or was it Palpatine's plan all along?
This book is definitely a must-read. 5/5
