There is not much meat to this “short story.†I’d consider it more of a poem. And the fact that is a poem, like Beowulf or the Epic of Gilgamesh, is utterly fantastic! If you have any interest in poetry or ancient literature, then I definitely recommend this to you. It’s short, and I reread it a few times. You’ll find something new through each read. It has that “ancient†feel as it recounts the story of a pre-evolved human tribe fighting another tribe. It has everything an ancient epic would have: large-scale battles, supernatural events, nature’s destructiveness. I recommend this to any literature fans.
