Review of
Republic Commando: Triple Zero
If I could give this 2.5 stars I would.
The beginning was very hard for me to follow. So many characters that I didn't remember from the first book (which I didn't really like) along with a bunch of new ones we've never met before. This made it a slog to read until I finally figured out who was who.
I also had a hard time with all the Mandolorian references and language. I never really cared for the Mandos, so having the clones act more like them was not something I cared about. I'm prefer the current Canon that says Jango wasn't really a Mando.
I also had a really hard time with the writing style. There was a lot of partial information given along with a lot of things I flat out don't understand. Like this one: "Fi winked at him, careful to allow for their difference in height." What the hell does that mean??
Once the action started, somewhere in the middle of the book I started to enjoy things more. It wasn't on the grand scale that most Clone Wars stories are, but it was entertaining enough.
Several characters in this story question the government and/or Jedi Council. While I believe that things like this would have happened if the story was real, I just didn't really care to read about the dissenters.
