Review of
Wild Space
The basic story of this book was fairly entertaining. Unfortunately, the execution was not very well done.
Jedi are spread thin so when a rumor about the Sith comes in, Obi-Wan and Bail Organa go traipsing across the galaxy to see what's happening. Anakin is busy saving the day and hunting for R2-D2 in another battle that is taking place during an episode of the Clone Wars show.
It seems as though the author had a hard time filling pages, so many scenes were repeated over and over again without much change. I lost track of how many times Obi-Wan had fits and nearly killed Organa while on the Sith planet. If this had been a short story or perhaps a comic book arc, it probably would have worked quite well.
I'd never heard the phrase "pull a face" before, so the thirteen times it was used in this book threw me a bit.
There were some in-book continuity errors also. At one point Obi-Wan tells Organa during a rant that he is 35 years old. 5 pages later, Bail thinks to himself that he doesn't know how old Obi-Wan is.
Overall, not something I'd recommend to anyone.
