Won’t go down as my favorite episode but it’s not bad. As much as I dislike Ambassador Binks(lol), I personally feel this story suits him to a tee. Lean into his goofiness.

So this episode is kind of structured like Hidden Enemy, with a more in-depth A plot, and a fun action piece B-plot. However, what this does worse than Hidden Enemy, is make the A-plot pointless and boring. Jar Jar is stupid, Bail Organa is uninteresting, and the Toydarians are both. Ima-gun-di's subplot is actually interesting. This episode is sort of a prequel to Season 1 in how it sets up both the next episode, and the Ryloth arc.

Press F for Master Di.

A true hero of the republic.

Jar jar was put to good use, I liked him better here as he knows what is expected of him and use it as a weapon.

Okayish episode but nothing amazing.

I'm doing a chronological re-watch with the launch of Disney+... and in hindsight of Rebels, the introduction of Cham Syndulla is huge....

and this is a great episode that shows what level the show gets to in the later seasons.... this is a kid show, but they just killed a jedi...

Another stand-out episode from Season One gets a prequel. Because I am watching this series in release date order, it is a little disorientating trying to figure out where (when?) I am in the timeline.

Jedi Master Di adds (and subtracts) from the Jedi roster. His brief moment is heroic and its always humbling to see the "good guys" suffer defeat every now and then. This show doesn't constantly give the Republic victories and the stakes are always high because of this fact.

How can the clumsiest character in the galaxy flip plates and cups onto each other? Jar Jar brings this episode down a great deal but I still enjoyed showing the diplomacy that enabled relief to Ryloth. The editing between Senator Organa's debate and the battles on Ryloth is nicely balanced.
